Emilie's Hair

One of my favorite things about having a little girl is being able to do her hair! She didn't start out with a whole lot, but Emilie's hair is now getting long enough that I can actually do things with it!

This is her usual do, which I think is just too cute for words. And now I can even do piggy tails, but it doesn't last as long, especially after a nap. Then today I tried out this stylin do, how cute is that?!? And it stayed in all day, and I think she liked it! I'm going to be doing this one more often!

Discovery Park

Last summer, our friends introduced us to the neatest park in Pleasant Grove called Discovery Park, which just so happens to be built by Novell! Last week we took the kids back there and they loved it! They had places for bigger kids to play and hide, which Isaac loved, but there were also areas just for smaller kids, which Emilie loved!

Isaac, Emilie, and Logan swinging. They have a grouping of these little beehives that the kids can climb inside, and funny enough, this one was the "Queen Bee" hive (each one is for a different bee). Isaac was fascinated with this one for a while, having fun making small words. He laughed every time I told him what word he made. They have plenty of places for kids to practice their balancing like these beams here. This park is just amazing at how engaging it is for kids to exercise! This platform is supposed to simulate an earth quake, but Emilie just thought it was fun to climb on.

Campfire Hoorah

For FHE Monday night, we went up American Fork Canyon for a good, old-fashioned hot dot roast with our friends the Ludvigsons and the Eldredges. The boys had fun getting SUPER dirty and exploring in the trees, and the babies had fun following behind and eating rocks. Ok, Emilie was the only one eating rocks, but still. (I just wish mine weren't the only child who loves eating rocks!)

Mike and Rachele stoking the fire.Jarom, Les, and Emilie munching on hotdogs.Mindi, Lincoln, Isaac, and Kate.
Of course it wouldn't have been a complete "mountain" experience without Isaac relieving himself in the trees (I think that's his favorite part of going camping!), and then as we were loading up the car, Isaac said his tummy hurt. Before I could undo his seatbelt, he threw up all over his clothes and car seat, so he had to drive home in his briefs and had to sit in the built-in car seats. Poor kid, I think he ate too many hotdogs!

First ATV Trip

We had a huge blast riding ATV's with my friends Mandy and Andrea and our families yesterday! It pays to have friends with toys! :) We went to a place called Lone Rock just west of the Stansbury mountains. It was hot, but we had a shade canopy and lots of drinks and treats. The kids had fun playing in the dirt and the grown-ups took turns watching the kids and going out for rides! Andrea and Alayna going out for a little ride.I took Emilie out for a quick ride, but she didn't care for it too much. I think it was too loud for her, and she didn't like the wind whipping through her hair.
Isaac, on the other had, couldn't get enough! He went out three different time, pretty much with whoever would take him! Here he is with Dad.
The boyz and the girlz.
Isaac also spent a lot of time exploring in the rocks and climbing up as high as he could go up the hill. This boy sure loves adventure!Even the ATV trailer provided some entertainment for the kids! While we were waiting in between turns, Paul and Jarom had fun shooting off Paul's guns, and since I had never shot a gun before and didn't have much else to do, I thought I might as well give it a try too! I shot 3 bullets from a 22 (I think, I really have no idea what I'm talking about here) and I was pretty impressed that all three shots made it on the target!

All boy

The other night while we were working in the yard, Isaac found this little fella! (look at his shoulder)
