Hymns #85

We drove out to our lot this evening with my parents and this is what we saw!
Here are all the window wells for the basement. I'm guessing those will be the next to go in. Isaac thought they made excellent tunnels and had fun playing under them.
This view is from the top of the hill at the opposite side of the cul-de-sac from our lot looking down at our construction site.
All this in just a few days, I can't wait to see what it looks like next week!!!

Stake Family Fair

Last Saturday, our Stake had a family fair and we had a great time! They had lunch for everyone, and so many fun things for the kids to enjoy. Here is Isaac in one of the bounce house/slides. He spent most of his time in here.
Here we are in the little train ride. Emilie is tucked away inside the Baby Bjorn - she must have enjoyed it because she slept the whole time we were there!
Isaac sitting inside the BIG FIRE TRUCK. He was pretty excited to sit inside and try to drive it. Funny enough, the fire fighter standing next to him is the guy we bought the townhouse from three years ago.
Jarom and Isaac inside the Draper Tank. I guess Draper City acquired this Vietnam-era tank for something like $50, so they repainted it and now use it for various city functions. Cool!
And Isaac got his face painted. He wanted a spider on his face and the cute girls running the booth were happy to oblige.

Expensive Dirt

On Wednesday night after Jarom got off work, we went down to our little plot of dirt and this is what we saw! This is from the sidewalk looking northeast:
Another view (looking southeast)And of course, Isaac needed to help dig too!
We will take another look this weekend and I think they will have the foundation underway. The builder super said to anticipate being able to move in some time in September, but we're still hoping for the end of August.

I'm crafty!

My crafting needs have been put on the back burner lately (I can't imagine why!) and I've been feeling so out of touch with my inner crafty self, so tonight I had a few spare moments and all the necessary ingredients to make a hooded towel for Emilie, and here's how it turned out!

This is the little hood part. The instruction said to use a hand towel, but when I bought the towel stuff, I grabbed a wash cloth instead because I couldn't remember, so the hood part is a little small. But since Emilie is still small, it's really not that big of a problem. :)
Both the hood and the body of the towel have these cute pleats in them. The picture doesn't really do the towel justice, but it gives you a good idea how it turned out. I'll put a link to the instructions soon in case anyone else wants to make some cute little hooded towels. It was such a fast project, less than a half hour from start to finish. So easy!!! The directions to make the hooded towel are at Skip to my Lou.
The only way I was able to get this done was for Emilie to stay asleep, which she gladly did! I was sure the whirring of the sewing machine would wake her up, but it didn't. I guess if she can sleep through Isaac, she can probably sleep through just about anything. She really likes her swing and usually falls asleep after a few minutes of swinging.

A few more random pics

Here are a few pics we took this weekend. On Friday night, we had dinner with Mandy and Andrea, my friends since I was little, and Andrea's little girl Elayna and Isaac always play so cute together! They were both sitting on this chair kicking their feet and having such a good time, so I had to take a picture! I think it's precious. It's the kind of picture that they would show at their wedding reception montage (and I would be totally ok with them getting married some day!).
Then on Saturday, we went up to the U for a party for kids who were in the NBICU there, and since Isaac spent the first 7 weeks of his life there, he definitely qualifies! They had a bouncy slide, clowns (who made the silly balloon hat), Dr. Dog (a golden retriever dressed in scrubs who actually sat still the whole time and let kids pet him!), lunch, and a raffle. We actually won a raffle prize and the box said it was a racecar joystick for a gaming station/computer, and since Isaac is so into cars, we thought it would be so fun for him to play with the steering wheel. But when we got home and opened it up, it was really a Hannah Montana backpack with a little girl's swimming suit inside!!! Talk about DISAPPOINTING! I don't know who thought that one was funny, but not us!

Then here are the kids dressed for church on Sunday, aren't they adorable?!? Isaac loves holding and hugging his sister, it's really sweet! I know that it won't last forever, but I love seeing it while it lasts.
Camie sent up these socks from California and I can't get over how adorable they are! Jenny (my sister-in-law) got some like this at her baby shower, only they look like ballerina slippers, and I was getting very covetous, so I was obviously overjoyed to get some for my little girl too! I quite enjoy all the fun little accessories for little girls even though Jarom thinks they are a bit excessive at times. :)
And some quick house news, I got a call from our sales guy today and they got the building permits back from the city today! So we are going in on Monday for our pre-construction meeting and then they will break ground some time next week! Yeah, we are going to have us a hole!

Wheeler Farm

For play group yesterday, we took the kids to Wheeler Farm to see the animals and enjoy some fresh air. The best part of going to WF is that it's free to walk around and there are so many animals to enjoy! Here are some pics from our little outing. (For some reason, Isaac just wanted to make silly faces in the pictures - I guess it was just one of those days.)

Isaac feeding the ducks and geese. He really wasn't in pain and quite enjoyed having the birds flock all around him, you just can't tell by looking at his face.
Isaac, Ethan, Lincoln, and Ben looking at a duck pond .Charlotte, Rachele, Logan, Ethan, and Ben (clockwise)Here are the kids on the tractor ride, they loved it!
Emilie was so good while we were there - she slept the whole time! Mommy and Isaac on the tractor ride, I sure love this little guy!

ouch

I've got mastitis again... Got it with Isaac too, which promptly brought an end to our nursing misadventures (we were doomed from the start). I'm hoping that this won't cause too many problems with Emilie though because we've been doing so well with nursing for the most part. I'm pretty darn miserable, but hopefully getting some sleep and keeping up on my antibiotics will do the trick.
