For St. Patrick's Day, I tried to do a few fun things with the kids to make it fun, especially dressing everyone up in GREEN clothes! Emilie just looked so darn cute, I had to take a picture. Forgot to get one of Isaac in his full camo though, darn it! We started the day out with green pancakes, had green grapes and apples for lunch, and more corned beef for dinner. Everyone loves feeling the luck of the Irish for one day, right?

Celebrations
Normally, if someone requested pie for their birthday instead of cake, I would be a little concerned about their mental state of being, but when Jarom wanted pie for his birthday dinner, which just so happened to be on Pi day, I couldn't say no!
We celebrated his birthday with lots and lots of MEAT. Saturday night we grilled some nice steaks, then Sunday we had corned beef and potatoes for his family party! He was a happy man. I sure love you Jarom and I hope you felt special on your big day. You're a very special person to me and I am so glad you chose me to share your life journey with. Happy Birthday, I sure love you!

Ninja Cat and Peas in a Pod
The kids love our cat. Really love her. Really REEEEALLY love her. And some days if the stars are in perfect alignment, she tolerates them too. But sometimes, she's had enough of them and has to hide. Even if it means under a play tent.
I guess it's not really that bad of a place to hang out, nice and quiet.
Now that Emilie is getting older, Isaac has realized that she's kind of fun to play with too. I love seeing the two of them play together, it just melts my heart! Here are some pics of them this week just being cute. They both love watching you-tube (and it gives me a chance to check my email and facebook!) and sometimes share the office chair to watch it together. Favorites include: The Wiggles, TMBG Video Podcasts for Kids, and Sesame Street.
No bed is funner to mess up than one just barely made, right? Isaac actually suggested I take this picture after telling them how CUTE they were being! He was right, I'm glad I listened!

Luck of the Irish
Last week was a very lucky one for me! On Wednesday, I got a call from Elite Stoneworks saying that I won their prize from the home show for free granite counter tops! Now I just need to decide which stone to chose. Here are the 3 choices available, what do you think?

Tuesday was also a pretty special day, I got my lifetime membership from Weight Watchers! I lost a total of 38.2 lbs and now am on the quest to maintain the healthy lifestyle that I've been working so hard on for the last few months.
So with all the commotion and craziness that is everywhere, it's great to have some pretty awesome things happen to me - a girl who hardly ever wins anything!

The Minivan Mom
There's an interesting phenomenon that happens every morning in neighborhoods just like mine . After the husbands are lovingly sent off the work, but before the dew has a chance to melt and the heavy morning mist still blankets the grass, moms load up their cargo (some dressed, some still in pajamas), garage doors open, and the mini van brigade hits the roads. We worry about car seats and spare diapers, not worrying so much if our ragged t-shirt matches our faded jeans. We are the minivan moms.I don't think anyone who has purchased minivan actually thought that they would ever be that person, but as the family size increases and the demands for a practical way move lots of little bodies increases, the van purchase is made. We are no longer the envy of the road, but we fit in with all the other frazzled parents trying to get things done with their little managers in tow.
Sometimes I think back to my working-outside-of-the-house days when I used to worry about commuting, business casual, office politics, and getting a promotion. Those things are a whole other lifetime away now. Instead, my days are filled with trips to the bank and grocery store, meal planning, laundry, and vain attempts at a clean house. I sometimes miss feeling successful and useful in an office setting, but my lunch dates now are much more exciting, even if the menu includes hot dogs or kool-aid.
It may just be a van, but it's a symbol of who I am. The van, like me, has the most important job of keeping little ones safe and getting them where they need to go, where it's down the street or along life's path. Buckle up, it's going to be a long and bumpy ride!

If I could turn back time
The other day, Jarom came across some film that he shot a while ago, so today he developed it and we got to see some beautiful pictures of our sweet little Isaac when he was still our itty bitty little boy! Seems like just yesterday.
This first one is my favorite, those dark eyes! He kept his eyes shut most of the time when he was first born, so when I actually got to see his eyes, it was a real treat!
Even covered in his tubes and tapes, he was such a beautiful little baby boy!
This was a few days before we brought him home from the NBICU. He had some breathing problems, so they put the humidifier dome over him to help him feel better.
Finally home from the hospital and free of the tubes and wires!
There really was a time when he would just lay still and be quiet. Wow, I faintly remember those days.
His hands were so tiny back then! Now they are almost as big as mine.
Gabby was very curious and watchful of the new, noisy visitor. Now she tries to keep out of his way!

Finger Painting
Jarom sometimes cringes when I let the kids get messy, but sometimes they just need to make a mess and have fun! The kids have both been a bit sick lately, so I thought they might enjoy a little finger painting.
Isaac goes more for the whole-hands-on approach and needed his paint refilled a few times.
Emilie was more into the small detail (like her face!). She wasn't quite sure what to do with the paint at first, but it didn't take long to get into the groove of things. She proudly showed me the octopus she made. I love my girl.
Another one bites the dust
